Anric Group will attend AusRAIL 2026 in Brisbane with a clear focus: helping Queensland contractors and project teams plan narrow-gauge works with the right plant, people, engineering and delivery support.
Much of Queensland’s rail network operates on 1,067 mm narrow gauge. For contractors delivering construction, maintenance and renewal works, that makes machine configuration an early project decision rather than a detail to resolve at mobilisation.
Gauge is only the starting point. The selected plant must also suit access, structural clearances, lifting requirements, attachments, towing loads, track conditions and the amount of work that must be completed within the possession window.
Anric Group’s Queensland capability brings these factors together. The fleet includes compact narrow-gauge plant, multi-gauge RRVs, a higher-capacity BEAR hi-rail excavator and rail trailers that can be configured around the specific work package.
Anric’s narrow-gauge offering is designed as a coordinated fleet. Each machine has a defined role, allowing the delivery team to match plant size and capability to the workface rather than relying on one machine for every task.
Equipment | Best suited to |
Liebherr 928 BEAR | Higher-capacity lifting, rail handling, pick-and-carry work and complex work packages |
Hitachi ZX65-RR | Restricted access, lighter excavation, attachment work and local material movements |
Hitachi ZX95-RRmg | Medium-capacity lifting, excavation, attachment work and multi-gauge projects |
5t rail trailer | Tools, attachments, components and smaller quantities of project materials |
20t rail trailer | Larger components, bulk materials and higher-volume worksite logistics |
The strongest fleet configuration is usually the one that gives each asset a clear purpose. The BEAR can lead heavier lifting and rail-handling tasks, while the ZX95-RRmg and ZX65-RR complete medium-capacity, restricted-access and attachment-led work. Rail trailers then keep tools, components and materials moving through the worksite.
Plant availability alone does not deliver a possession. The equipment must arrive in the correct configuration, with the right attachments, operators, transport plan and technical support.
Anric Group can support Queensland projects through wet and dry plant hire, experienced operators, engineering and technical support, bespoke attachments, heavy transport, mobilisation and coordinated work packages.
This integrated approach reduces the number of interfaces the client must manage. It also creates a clearer line between the methodology, the selected plant and the required project outcome.
AusRAIL provides an opportunity to move beyond a generic plant enquiry and discuss the actual constraints shaping upcoming work. Useful information to bring to the conversation includes:
Even when the project is still at an early stage, these details help identify the likely fleet configuration and the technical questions that need to be resolved before procurement or mobilisation.
Possession time is too expensive to use for basic plant planning. Equipment selection should be tested against the work sequence early enough to resolve gauge, access, lift, attachment and logistics issues.
For example, a project may need the BEAR for primary rail handling, the ZX95-RRmg for formation and medium-capacity installation work, and the ZX65-RR for restricted sections. A 20t rail trailer may handle larger material movements while a 5t trailer supports tools and smaller components.
This type of coordinated planning can reduce unnecessary machine movements, prevent larger plant being tied up on minor tasks and provide better production continuity across multiple workfaces.
Anric Group operates one of Australia’s largest privately owned fleets of specialised rail and civil plant, with capability to mobilise across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.
That national fleet is supported by more than 45 years of rail and civil experience, in-house engineering, experienced project teams and an operating model built around complex infrastructure environments.
For Queensland clients, the objective is straightforward: provide the correctly configured plant and support needed to complete the work safely, efficiently and within the available access window.
AusRAIL 2026 will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 November 2026. The exhibition is scheduled to open to delegates and registered visitors on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 November.
The national conference and exhibition brings together participants from passenger rail, freight, heavy haul, rollingstock, government, consulting, contracting and the broader supply chain.
Anric will be attending to discuss upcoming Queensland works, narrow-gauge plant requirements and how engineering, operators, attachments and logistics can be integrated into the project plan.
