Trains are super important in Australia, carrying over 1 billion tons of stuff every year – that’s as heavy as 50 million elephants! To keep all these trains running, we need special machines to build and fix railways quickly and safely, without wasting money or harming the environment. Hi-rail vehicles can drive on both roads and train tracks, making them really useful for railway work. A company called Anric Group is a leader in making these special vehicles. Let’s find out why hi-rail equipment is so important for railway projects, look at the awesome features of Anric Group’s machines, and show how they’re helping build better railways.
Hi rail equipment plays a huge role in rail projects, acting as a key tool for building railways, performing regular maintenance, and responding to emergencies. These vehicles are unique because they can work on both roads and train tracks.
Thanks to their retractable rail wheels, hi rail trucks can easily switch between driving on roads and operating on tracks. This makes them super flexible and useful for different types of jobs.
Hi rail vehicles are incredibly flexible and can be used for many tasks. They’re commonly needed for fixing tracks, delivering materials, inspecting railways, and even lifting heavy objects. Because they can handle so much, they make rail projects run more smoothly.
In rail emergencies, time is everything. Hi rail vehicles make it easier for teams to get to problem areas quickly by driving on roads and switching to train tracks when needed. This helps fix issues faster, reduces downtime, and keeps projects on track (pun intended!).
The newest hi rail equipment is designed to be safer and more efficient. Automated systems and comfortable designs make it easier for workers to use them while lowering the chances of accidents. This means rail projects can get done safely without sacrificing productivity.
As rail projects become more complicated, hi rail equipment keeps evolving to meet new challenges. Companies like Anric Group are constantly improving these vehicles, making sure they stay reliable and effective for all kinds of rail work. Whether it’s construction, maintenance, or emergencies, hi rail equipment is an essential part of keeping railways running smoothly.
Anric Group’s hi rail fleet sets a new standard in rail equipment technology, addressing critical needs for efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility. Here’s what makes their equipment a leader in the industry.
Safety is the cornerstone of any successful rail project. Anric Group integrates cutting-edge safety technologies to protect workers, equipment, and project timelines from potential hazards.
Built-in fail-safes automatically trigger emergency actions like braking and equipment shutoff in dangerous situations. This reduces accidents in high-risk environments, protecting both staff and assets.
These precision braking systems provide better control, particularly when operating under heavy loads or in challenging conditions like rain or uneven terrain. By improving stability, they help prevent derailments and other risks.
Operator safety and comfort are enhanced by intuitive, easy-to-use controls. These systems are designed to reduce physical strain, allowing operators to focus on the task at hand without distractions.
As environmental considerations are becoming increasingly important, Anric Group offers sustainable solutions that meet modern standards. Their hi rail fleet combines powerful performance with a smaller environmental footprint.
Advanced hybrid engines and optimised fuel systems drastically cut fuel consumption without sacrificing power. This reduces operating costs and significantly lowers carbon emissions, benefiting both businesses and the planet.
Engineered to meet strict environmental regulations, these vehicles emit fewer particulates and greenhouse gases, ensuring compliance with global sustainability goals.
Many components are built with recyclable materials, reducing waste after the equipment’s lifecycle and contributing to a circular economy approach.
Time is critical in the rail industry, and Anric Group’s hi rail equipment is built to save you time and money by reducing inefficiencies.
These vehicles are equipped with smart diagnostic tools that monitor performance in real time. Any issues are flagged immediately, enabling quick fixes and preventing unexpected downtime.
Fleet-wide GPS systems allow for accurate vehicle tracking and coordination. This boosts productivity by improving logistics, scheduling, and route planning.
Supervisors can oversee vehicle performance from a distance, making real-time adjustments to operations. This helps ensure smooth workflows and reduces unnecessary delays.
No two rail projects are the same, and having equipment tailored to specific needs can make a significant difference in efficiency and outcomes. Anric Group prioritises flexibility and customer satisfaction with highly customisable solutions.
Whether you need excavation tools, heavy lifting capabilities, or precision repair equipment, Anric Group offers a range of attachments and configurations to suit your project.

The Parramatta Light Rail (PLR) Project, valued at $7 million, is being delivered in partnership with Parramatta Connect. Commencing in February 2021, the project is ongoing. Anric Group is playing a key role in constructing 7km of dual ballasted track, three concrete bridges, and slab track installations at Vineyard Creek and Adderton Road. Additionally, the team is responsible for erecting overhead wiring (OHW) structures and jewellery between Rosehill and Carlingford.
The project faced tight deadlines, requiring seamless coordination to meet critical milestones. Complex tasks such as welding rails into long strings and installing OHW structures demanded efficiency and precision, all while maintaining high safety standards.
Anric Group provided specialised plant, labour, and track support services to keep the project on schedule. Our modern hi-rail fleet and skilled team enabled us to deliver:
Despite tight deadlines, Anric Group ensured steady progress, precision, and high-quality delivery. Our teamwork with Parramatta Connect highlighted our ability to deliver innovative rail solutions, making a noticeable impact on critical infrastructure projects like the Parramatta Light Rail.
